We successfully completed all Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) requirements to receive full accreditation for another six years. Our 100-page Self Study included analysis of Curriculum, Instructional Methodology, Student Achievement, Catholic Identity and Resource Management. A visiting team of five educators observed all classrooms and interviewed students, parents, teachers, Principal Kilbane and Father Mark over three days and concluded that at SCCS “everyone is committed to developing students who have deep faith, a strong sense of service to others and a growth mindset.”

The 2020-2021 school year marks our 7th year of using Math In Focus: Singapore Math. In Kindergarten through 6th grade. “Much of the success of the Singapore approach is due to the careful way in which algorithms are developed, moving from concrete models to pictorial representations to abstract number sentences. Concepts are introduced earlier and more concretely than many programs” (Marshall Cavendish, author).
