5/26/2010 - I recently made an author visit to St. Cecilia's School, and was astonished at the high quality of the writing at all grade levels. Even the youngest students - who put together delightful stories that ranged up to three pages in length - demonstrated an excellent grasp of narrative, sentence structure, paragraphing and grammar. The older ones showed skills that would make some high schoolers envious.
I was also impressed with how attentive everyone was during my presentations. Their questions were unusually sophisticated and perceptive.
- Bainbridge Island author Jim Whiting has published more than 100 nonfiction books for young readers and made numberous author visits to Puget Sound-area schools.

I am so grateful for the safe and loving school environment we have at St. Cecilia Catholic School. It is such a joy to see our children growing spiritually and fulfilling their academic potential. It has brought our family closer together with the other families who are sharing the same experience.
