We are pleased to introduce Mr. Jonathan Graber as our Orchestra & Guitar Teacher. Mr. Graber has many years teaching/mentoring with Seattle, Tacoma, Everett and Cascade Youth Symphonies. Other teaching experience includes Assistant Professor of Music, Allegheny College and Fulbright Scholar/Visiting Professor of Music, National Autonomous University of Honduras. Mr. Graber earned a Ph.D in Music Performance, and has 26 years of teaching experience. He has many ideas for our students to learn musical instruments including using a website for a Music Tech Course.
Millard Martin, Band
New to SCCS is a Band program for our 5th-8th grade students. Mr. Millard Martin joins us to lead this fledgling program.
Neill Raymond, P.E.
Mr. Neill Raymond teaches Physical Education to students in Kindergarten-Eighth Grade.
Janie Walton, Music
Janie Walton teaches General Music and Concert Choir. Ms. Walton grew up in Seattle and Bainbridge Island. She and her husband raised their four children on Bainbridge and founded the St. Cecilia Auction in 1981. She is a graduate of Forest Ridge and the University of Portland where she received a B.A. in English and Secondary Education and a minor in music. Her musical education includes twelve years of piano, and countless years of choral study and performance and choir memberships. She has served on the board of the Bainbridge Chorale and still performs with them. Ms. Walton has also served St. Cecilia parish as the Pastoral Assistant for Music and has a strong foundation in liturgical music. Years of teaching PREP classes, moderating scout troops and raising her own family has prepared her well to share her love of music with all levels of the students of St. Cecilia Catholic School.
Stella Scott, Spanish
Sra. Stella Scott teaches Spanish to our 5th-8th grade students.
Mrs. Susan Ogilvie teaches Art to PreK-Sixth Grade this year. She enjoys incorporating her greatest loves in life. . .family, faith, children and art. "Teaching in Catholic school and sharing the faith through art is rewarding and exciting," shares this mother of 6 and grandmother of 4. Susan and her husband of 31 years, Paul, enjoy parish service and the community. Mrs. Ogilvie also teaches college level drawing. She holds a BFA in Fine Art and a MFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Oil painting and children's book illustration are her professional focus. Susan is also a member of the Secular Franciscan Community and the Legion of Mary.
