Overview
Our middle school students continue to build on mathematical concepts using both textbook exercises and games designed to enhance understanding. They expand their knowledge of life, earth and physical sciences; increase their facility with technology; and develop critical thinking skills. Students read a wide range of literature and hone their analytical and creative writing skills; engage in projects that bring social studies to life; and receive music and art instruction.

Alexis Anjomshoaa-Brown
5th Grade and 6th Grade
About
Ms. Anjomshoaa-Brown grew up in Los Angeles and went to the University of California in Santa Barbara undergraduate education. She double majored and received a Bachelors of Arts in Communications and in Spanish. After graduating, Alexis volunteered with Americorps and began her career working with students. She has worked with children in San Jose California, Catalina Island, Santa Marta Colombia, The Bahamas, the big island of Hawaiʽi & Oahu and has been living in Hawaiʽi for the last seven years. Alexis received her Masters of Science at the University of Hawaiʽi at Mānoa where she met her husband. Alexis enjoys hiking with their two dogs on the weekend, is a certified yoga instructor, run a half marathons every year and love cooking, reading and traveling.

Julianna Weis

About
Juliana Weis considers herself an "island girl". As a young child, Juliana moved from northern California in 1979 with her military family to beautiful Bainbridge Island, and hasn't strayed far from her beloved hometown. Juliana attended Bainbridge Island Public Schools, went to St. Cecilia's Parish where she was confirmed and married, and later taught Social Studies and speech/debate at Bainbridge Island High School from 2003-2005. Juliana's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History from Gonzaga University, a Masters in History at Washington State University, and a Masters in Teaching from Western Washington University. Married in 2005, Juliana moved to Portland, Oregon for thirteen years to take some time off from teaching to raise her two daughters. In 2018, Juliana returned to the island with her family, and has since enjoyed her favorite past times of reading, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family.
