Grace Notes for April 27

Islandwood

Students spent four days and three nights at Islandwood, an outdoor learning
center on Bainbridge Island. A huge thank you to Mrs. Van Eaton and Mrs.
Taylor for leading students on this incredible field trip. Excerpts from
students writing about the trip are below:

Islandwood has made me feel closer to my classmates and nature. The
magic of Islandwood is the harmony of the camp; being disconnected
from electronics and public transportation makes you reset your mind
and allows you to focus on the splendor of the forest. Avery, 6th

I enjoyed my time at Islandwood very much. One of my favorite
experiences was the solo walk. I felt in harmony with nature from the
soft chirping of the birds to the faint smell of pollen. One of my favorite
reflections was to count how many colors of green we could see. This
was my favorite because it really made me notice all the nature around
me. Ivy, 6th
