Grace Notes for April 6

Shadow Stations

Our 7th/8th grade teacher Mrs. Amy Lee-Despard guided students through a multi-sensory Stations of the Cross unit of study.  Each student read about, reflected on and wrote about a station and depicted it artistically.

Student-written Prayers

Station 10: Veronica Wipes the face of Jesus

Prayer: Lord, watch over me to make sure that I do what’s right no matter the consequences. Give me at least half of the strength and faith that Veronica displayed.

Station 13:  Jesus Falls for the Third Time

Prayer: Ask for forgiveness or help is the lesson learned here. God, please help me when I stumble. Help me get up and continue on towards the right. If I falter in my faith, help me get up and continue towards good. Amen.

To culminate the unit, on March 31st our 7th/8th graders performed Shadow Stations of the Cross for our school and parish community. Experiencing the Stations of the Cross through multiple senses made for profound and lasting learning.

With joy and gratitude,
Principal Susan Kilbane
