Ms. Dunlap

Kindergarten Teacher

Q: How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

A: Adventurous, Book-Worm, Cheerful!

Q: What do you enjoy the most about teaching Kindergarten?

A: Kindergarten is about exploring kids’ love of learning. I love being able to share new concepts with students and help them learn to persevere through challenging material. One of the greatest moments in Kinder is the entire class celebrating the moment when someone realizes they are reading on their own!

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I don’t know if I can choose…but my top 3 are hamburgers, sushi, and Indian food!

Q: If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?

A: Japan! I studied Japanese in high school and loved learning about the language and culture. I would love to visit the old temples and try all of the different foods!

Q: What is your favorite hobby?

A: Hiking! I love taking my dog on hikes, reading in the woods, and exploring new trails.

Q: What is your favorite children’s book?

A: One of the books I remember fondly from my childhood was My Father’s Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. I start the year reading this book to the class and enjoy sharing this wild imaginative story with everyone. It inspires students to draw their own stories and express their imagination on paper, just like the story did for me as a kid.
